The Director of Tech and Engineering, which is also known as Tech Director, was a new position made for the 2010-11 year. Tech Director replaced the Engineering Commander position as it had the same duties, although it had less power in the hierarchy. The Tech Director's duties were to create and maintain Alpha systems as well as to design and aid in the building of Beta systems.

Pre-2004

Before 2004, a position with this title had existed with similar responsibilities. It went off the map until the 2009-10 year.

2009-10: Engineering Commander

The Engineering Commander was a position created for the 2009-10 year for Matthew Farkas-Dyck. The Engineering Commander had the same responsibilities as the Tech Director but with Commander powers. To read more see Engineering Commander.

2010-11: Tech Director

With the 2010 Proposal to Change the Hierarchy accepted, 2010-11 will see a Tech Director re-implemented, and unless another change occurs, the Tech Director will keep its stated duties at the stated level in the hierarchy.
