Time Acceleration is the act of speeding up time. In the context of spacesim, it refers to a function built into the Orbit software which allows the pilot to speed up time. As outer space is generally a large empty space, time acceleration allows the pilot to ignore the time spent waiting to reach a destination. Time acceleration, although a large break in Mission Integrity, is necessary to complete a Mission.
