The Interlock is the primary control module for the Brahe, the Habitat used by the OCESS Astronauts on their annual simulated space missions. It contains all of the primary controls of the Habitat. The Interlock is located between the Hotlab and Interconnect modules.

Computers and Monitors

The Interlock contains several computers that allow the Astronauts to control the Brahe.

Flight and Navigations

This computer runs the Orbit software developed by Dr. J. Magwood. It is a 2-D graphical interface with the Habitat's engine systems, and allows the pilot to pilot the Habitat, assisted by his co-pilot.

Environmental Controls

The environmental controls computer runs EECOM, another member of the simulation software package developed by Dr. Magwood. It monitors the atmospheric conditions within each module as well as possible biological contaminents in the internal atmosphere. Additionally it reports the open/closed status of every door in the Habitat.

Power Grid Controls

In the school year of 2006-07, a new new software was added to the simulation programs used by OCESS. The Power Grid software monitors reactor temperature and status of various on board circuits and modules. It also controls the current flow of power generated from the generators as well as the activation of the radiation shielding, the generator itself, the propulsion system and the communication system.

HAL

Infamous for its quick wit and spelling mistakes, HAL was the persona of the ship-board computer. Unfortunately, due to unforseable problem's with HAL's logic gates, it will have to be replaced. The HAL station will be converted, in future years, for the use of AUXCOM a text based communication utility that has the capability of sending attached files between Mission Control and the Habitat

Tanya

The Word Processing and (unofficially) gaming computer on board the Habitat. It was discovered after launch that it did not actually possess any Word Publishing capabilities beyond Windows' Notepad. It did, however, have a copy of Red Alert 2 installed, and was named after a character in that game. In recent years, Tanya has replaced by the power grid station and hence moved on to join the ranks of other Spacesim Sim Lore/lore.

Power Box

The Power Box is located at the back right of the Interlock looking from the Airlock entrance, and contains the circuit breakers for the entire habitat.

Adjoining Modules

The Interlock is between the Airlock, Hotlab, and Interconnect. In case of emergency, always evacuate into the Interconnect, as it possesses additional escape routes, whereas the others do not (beyond the two EVA suits contained in the Airlock). The Interconnect also contains EVA suits making it a primary escape route. If possible, have an astronaut in EVA gear return to the Interlock under the direction of Mission Control to fix EECOM.
