This page should be cleaned up to reflect best practices. i.e. give definitive answers on which templates to use when, the proper way to fill them out, what needs to be bolded, and etc. Also here should be things such as How to Upload, Redirect, Format a Table, Insert a Picture, and Sign with your Signature. Is this page reserved exclusivly for stefan and killer-rabbit-nevin? or can we commoners edit it as well? --Foo1 22:34, 7 February 2006 (EST)

It's open to anybody, but if some change is made that promotes ugliness (ex: We should all use 72-pt. fonts), then it will be swiftly and mercilessly deleted.--The Killer Rabbit 10:56, 10 February 2006 (EST)
Can you post a link on how to deal with the ~~~~ customization? You mention there's a helpfile, but you don't provide a link! --Avacar 09:36, 15 February 2006 (EST)

1st/3rd person

All articles are to be written in the third person. I don't want to see any "Now, we are become simulators, destroyers of the hab", or "Those of us in mission control have the following duties..."

Was this use of third-person accidental? --The Killer Rabbit aka Nevin 17:32, 19 March 2006 (EST)

This point is become moot due to the exemption placed on this page. Please remember to leave your signature on your comments. Stefanido 14:16, 19 March 2006 (EST)
My bad.--The Killer Rabbit aka Nevin 17:32, 19 March 2006 (EST)

No personal pages?

Seeing as the wiki is now comatose (I have made the last twelve changes, and no-one else has made a change since February 22nd), I propose that we revoke the ban on personal pages and current events. It's the only foreseeable way to get more people on this wiki. --The Killer Rabbit aka Nevin 17:33, 19 March 2006 (EST)

Nevin -- Demi-God

By the power vested in me by...myself, I hereby proclaim Nevin a "Full" God of Editing. Sic 'em, boy! Stefanido 14:15, 19 March 2006 (EST)

Year Standardization

I was hoping to add a system to the style guide for articles on a given year. I was thinking that each year (e.g.: 2002-03) is broken down into a standardized list of essentials. They would go: Admiral, Mission Commanders, Planetarium Commanders, EEP Commanders, Tech Director, and PR Director. This would be followed by several sections a Mission section, an Education section, an Events section, and Improvements section, and a Lore section. The Mission section would include: the Mission (where and when), Astronauts (names and roles), Exchanges, and Mini/Training mission(s). The Education would include: notable planetariums (it would contain links if an article is too big), and notable EEPS (links if needed). The Events section would contain notable events links (example 2001 Lock out, and the Space Sim 10th Anniversary). The Improvements section would include: notable improvements (links to CMES, Doors task force 2005, etc); and the Lore section would contain links to lore, (e.g.: Pink Water, etc). What do people think? --Schmitz 15:12, 16 April 2006 (EDT)

I've created the Year template, but your mileage may vary.
I don't understand what you mean by your comment?--Schmitz 11:27, 17 April 2006 (EDT)

Cleanup

This page should be cleaned up to reflect best practices. i.e. give definitive answers on which templates to use when, the proper way to fill them out, what needs to be bolded, and etc. Also here should be things such as How to Upload, Redirect, Format a Table, Insert a Picture, and Sign with your Signature. I'll work on it during March break, but not a moment before ;D---Q-Cumber 17:22, 9 March 2010 (EST)
I've cleaned it up a little bit. The "how to" stuff will be in Ben's Beginner's Guide to the Wiki. This page will be reserved for styles that the wikimasters want the whole wiki to conform to, as well as general best practices. Also, Talk about the Style Guide should go here, and not on the style guide itself. -- Stefanido 14:27, 8 April 2010 (EDT)

Oxford Comma

The Oxford Comma is a comma before an "and" used in lists such as in this example:

A, B, and C

Request ruling on whether we are using the oxford comma or not.

I am in favour of the oxford comma. Stefanido 18:13, 10 March 2010 (EST)

I am in favour also thereof. Strake 13:54, 27 March 2010 (EDT)

In favour. ---BenzyneTalk Page 10:44, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
