The OCESS Revival-Through-Archival (RTA) Project is a large-scale proposal for club rejuvenation, and is the formal name for The Dig. It is a collection of smaller proposals with the central theme of restoring the aspects of OCESS that brought it to the place it is today, as well as introducing new ideas which will advance the club. It consists mostly of proposals smaller than the typically-seen Baltzian proposals, though some, such as its central proposal for Hierarchy reform, approach the standard.
Abstract
The OCESS wiki, for an increasing number of members, is the only way to learn about the club's rich and storied history. Many new and prospective members are unaware of the scope of OCESS' influence on its members, at Lisgar, and even on the global scale. Since I (Jamie) joined OCESS, the wiki was largely neglected as the club was dealing with larger issues, but as the club gets back on its feet, I believe that it is crucial that the wiki is updated and restored to its former state. This task is not an easy one to undertake, given the club's 30+ year history and myriad of alumni now let loose into the ever-growing world. While the issues of modern articles (2015-Present) can be discussed and remedied largely by current members and recent alumni, articles that are outside of recent memory are in need of more work. I myself have been guilty of alienating alumni in the past, due to my 'let the high schoolers do it' mentality, but I realize that alumni are the reason we are here, and are indispensable to our progress. This proposal, along with my Pseudoparliamentary Model Proposal, look towards a future where alumni are able to remain engaged in OCESS no matter where they are, so that this club's past greatness becomes its present and its future.
