[http://openluna.org/team.php Paul Graham], who was giving the closing penary, asked as a general question what the escape velocity from Earth was. The person who got it right first was going to get to drive the rover that was in a NASA lab in California. In answer, I stupidly shouted to the silent room "11.2 metres per second up." Mr. Graham said "that does not sound right" and the scientist behind me (Grant Bonyun? I can't find anyone with anything resembling his name.) put his hand on my shoulder and said "you mean kilomtres". While I groaned very loudly, he shouted to Paul Graham "this guy might want another chance", but Paul Graham didn't listen and chose someone else. Then Bryce got it for putting his hand up really fast. Oh well.

Anecdote re: Bryce and Me

Paul Graham, who was giving the closing penary, asked as a general question what the escape velocity from Earth was.
