The spacesim office is located at the site of Lisgar Collegiate Institute, a high school in downtown Ottawa. It is on the top floor of the North building, at the far Eastern end of the hall. The office is mainly used as a lunch time hangout for those seeking sanctuary from the bustle of the halls, or those who seek the warmth of a glowing cathode ray tube.

Historically, the office has been in official control of the teacher-advisor. However, since its creation during the renovation of the Science Floor, it has been occupied by students. Because of this, keys are provided to the Commanders, one of whom must be present when other students are using the office.

Purpose:

The sim office has been mainly a place of recreation for the past few years. Housing two Sega Genesis machines, one of which we gained from Michael Newton and the AVA club of Lisgar. There has been a recent move to transform the office into a place of work, with the additions of calenders, meeting hours and the possibiity of instaling a computer in the office. Dispite this, the Sim office still remains a place of recreation for sim members both during lunch and during class. As a result of this use for recreational purposes, the emebers of sim have been forced to endure a continual struggle for cleanliness in the office, with occasional aid from the janitorial staff (albiet, it sometimes comes with a mild cost in the form of rants, etc).

There has been talk of instaling a computer and printer in the office so that spacesim work may be accomplished. The phone has been discovered to be in good working order, and has been used several times to contact schools for the Galileo Challenge - indicating that the office has the potential to become a place of work.
