The two Mission Commanders are the leaders of Spacesim. They share command of the organization with the Admiral.

At the end of every year, new Mission Commanders are appointed by the previous Mission Commanders, with the approval of the Admiral. The appointee is chosen from a group of candidates who apply for the position because they feel that they can fill the highest student leadership position in Spacesim.

The Mission Commanders currently also double as "Club Co-Presidents", although a proposal to change this will likely be implemented for 2007-08. This allows Spacesim to masquerade as a Lisgar Collegiate Institute club, as well as enjoying its true nature as an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board Association. Unfortunately, we do not receive any funding from the Lisgar C.I Student's Council. However, they do host our Office on the Science Floor.

In the 2004-05 year, three candidates applied for the position of Mission Commander. One, at the request of the Admiral, stepped down in deference to the other two candidates' seniority. However, the Admiral still accorded some Mission Commander privileges to the third candidate including a key to the Office. This event is uncommon in the history of Spacesim, but there was a similar situation with three Mission Commanders in the 1993-94 scholastic year.

Other Commanders

Two other Command branches exist that are theoretically at the same rank as Mission Commanders. However, due to how inefficient it would be to have six people in charge, the Mission Commanders have always acted as Co-Presidents of the Organisation. They, however, cannot manage everything all the time, so instead delegate large portions of the organisation's management to the other commanders.
