Revision as of 19:04, 5 March 2014

These are the logs for the Alpha Centauri 2014 mission. They cover the perspectives of the astros, mc, and the simmies. The MC logs are starting late and are extremely incomplete due to various reasons. The timestamps are different because the logs were taken on different computers, and it will take too much time to make them all follow the same format.

1:36 PM 25/02/2014: We are burning at 95 until we have an intercept with Alpha Centauri B.

2:01 PM 25/02/2014: The piloting software does not account for the gravity of Alpha Centauri A, so the periapsis does not give an accurate prediction of our flight path.

2:25 PM 25/02/2014: Crewmembers are alpha-ill.

2:39 PM 25/02/2014: Cmdr. Melanson has taken over for Lt. Theriault, who is currently taking some time off for health reasons.

2:46 PM 25/02/2014: The Astros and MC are evaluating how much fuel we need to get home, then determining what is an acceptable rate of fuel consumption during our time acceleration.

2:52 PM 25/02/2014: Cmdr Melanson and MC are running calculations to determine the remaining delta-v in the AYSE drive.

3:07 PM 25/02/2014: MC's calculations have been completed.

3:13 PM 25/02/2014: Cmdr Melanson has asked MC for the fuel used during the transfer burn to Alpha Centauri.

3:16 PM 25/02/2014: 440 MC asks if we have the heat gun on-board. Lt. Billig is checking.

3:17 PM 25/02/2014: Cmdr. Melanson is also checking for a heat gun.

3:24 PM 25/02/2014: Cmdr Melanson is still working on calculations.

3:26 PM 25/02/2014: These calculations are not necessary in order to progress with the mission but it will be more difficult to do them later.

3:38 PM 25/02/2014: MC wants us to stop time acceleration at approximately 100,000,000 km from A.C.A.

3:45 PM 25/02/2014: We have stopped time accelerating.

3:47 PM 25/02/2014: We are now following the Mission Day 2 Plan.

7:16 PM 25/02/2014: Connection regained.

7:16 PM 25/02/2014: The plan dictates that we go into hibernation for 50 days with time acceleration at 60 time step until we are near our destination

7:23 PM 25/02/2014: We are hesitant to enter hibernation because we are unsure of how we'll know when to leave hibernation.

7:28 PM 25/02/2014: Preparing dessert because Cmdr Melanson and Lt. Whitehead are going to sleep soon.

7:54 PM 25/02/2014: Lisgar MC is signing off.

7:59 PM 25/02/2014: Commander Melanson and Leitenant Whitehead are going to sleep.

12:41 AM 26/02/2014: The timestamps on EECOM and Engineering have frozen at the exact same time, approx. 50 minutes ago. Restarting both programs.

12:44 AM 26/02/2014: Both programs display working timestamps now. MC believes this was the fault of a bug in the server.

4:01 AM 26/02/2014: Cmdr. Melanson and Lt. Whitehead waking up from their sleep shifts. Lt. Cmdr. Mersereau and Lt. Billig are beginning their sleep shifts.

1:40 PM 2014-02-26: Alpha Centuri B Alpha will now be known as Romanov

1:47 PM 2014-02-26: We decided that we're going to go to Alpha Centauri B Romanov

2:20 PM 2014-02-26: Running simulations to decide on where we're going.

4:05 PM 26/02/2014: The unofficial names for the planets have been finalized. They are: (Alpha Centauri) Aa: Hapsburg, Ab: Barndoon, Ac: Caelan, Ba: New Amsterdam, Bb: Romanov. Ca: Hohen Zappity. Aa is apparently a moon of one of the previous planets, though.

4:11 PM 26/02/2014: We have performed laser spectrometry tests on the planets in the Alpha Centauri system and are still deciding which will be our destination.

4:37 PM 26/02/2014: We've chosen the destination of Alpha Centauri Bb.

4:39 PM 26/02/2014: We will be performing a burn towards Bb.
