A LAN Party, where LAN stands for Local Area Network, is when a group of people connect their computers on an aforementioned LAN and play video games. Spacesim usually holds LAN parties on school holidays and PD Days; these usually occur at IGO's (formally IGO Cyber House), located at 223 Bank Street and has a variety of games and computers available for an hourly rate to use the premises. The most common games played are Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 1942 in terms of FPS (First Person Shooter) games, while the strategy games most commonly played are Civilization 4 and Starcraft. When the number of players is insufficient for a full game of Starcraft, a common joke is for some players to play on two computers at once.

Starting from November 17, 2009, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 have become increasingly popular to play among LAN Partiers because of their heavy team-based gameplay. As a result, most other games have been phased out of regular play during a LAN Party.
