The health officer is the astronaut assigned to monitor the health on the crew of the habitat and conduct experiments on the pyschological and physical impact of space travel. Since saftey is paramount on a space mission, the health officer usualy has command over the other astronauts not including the Mission Commander and the Habitat Commander.
