CMES is an acronym for Command Module Environmental Simulator.

CMES was the simulation software used by OCESS prior to the ORBIT software suite developed by Admiral Jim Magwood. This software is no longer used by Spacesim because all of the members who knew how to use it graduated. This is a cautionary tale for all newer software: it must have clear instructions regarding its use or be self evident, as in the case of the current simulator programs.
