The Airlock is the Habitat's connection with the outside world. It is the smallest module, and connects to the Interlock on one side and opens outside on the other.

Function

The Airlock allows Astronauts to exit and reenter the Habitat without adversely affecting the interior atmosphere of the Habitat. It also provides decontamination capabilities to those astronauts who may have been exposed to malignant organic life-forms or other harmful side-effects of leaving the Habitat.

Relation to EECOM

The Airlock is one of six modules supported in the EECOM software, and it is the responsibility of the EECOM to monitor the atmosphere of the Airlock, as well as to depressurise and repressurise it as necessary.
