0.5 Station Training Protocols
0.5.1 Station Training
Station Training refers to the basic training that members must receive on specific mission tasks in order to be qualified to perform their duties during a mission.
0.5.2 Stations
There are eight stations that a member can train in. These are:
- AUXCOM
- CAPCOM
- EECOM
- ENG
- LOGS
- MEDICAL
- NETWORK
- PILOT
There are group-specific variants for each station with regard to Mission Control, Astronauts, and Simulators with the exception of NETWORK.
0.5.3 Ratings
Each member will have a rating on each station, which indicates their relative level of training and competence on that station. The ratings are:
Not Complete | This member has not accomplished any significant strides in mastering this station. |
In Progress | This member understands the basics of this station. They are working towards a rating of Complete on this station. |
Complete | This member has mastered this station. They are qualified to man it during a Main Mission. |
Instructor | This member has demonstrated expertise surpassing mastery on this station. They are qualified to instruct others in its function, and certify them to the rating of "Complete." |
0.5.4 Documentation
Each member will have their own training summary card, housed on the wiki. It will display their certifications on their member page.
Members are required to display this documentation to the Mission Control Commander when applying for astronaut or mission control duties.
0.5.5 Certification Requirements
In each of the following sections, there will be three sub-sections labeled "In Progress," "Complete," and "Instructor." In order to be certified to the level indicated by the header of the sub-section, the member must be able to demonstrate, on demand, proficiency in all tasks under that heading, as well as proficiency in the tasks under the headings of the previous sub-sections. Thus, to achieve the rating Complete, the member must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the "Complete" tasks as well as the "In Progress" tasks.
Members are certified to "In Progress" or "Complete" by their instructor, who are responsible for having their student's documentation updated on the wiki. Instructors are required to document that they have certified the student, on the student's talk page.
Members are certified to "Instructor" by the Mission Commander, if the Mission Commander has at least a "Complete" rating on that station, or otherwise by the Admiral.
