The Final Countdown is a song by Europe that became popular in Spacesim during Mission Daedalus in 2009-10. It is particularly approriate because of its space-themed lyrics.

Uses During Mission Daedalus
- 1 minute before the initial countdown started for Mission Daedalus, CAPCOM Arrian Amir-Rafiei and Flight Director Samuel Baltz played this song over Windows Net Meeting to the habitat CAPCOM Mikaela Stiver.
- On the Friday morning the day before landing, Ben Paul, acting Flight Director and the only acting Simulator, chose to play this song over the engine in order to wake the astronauts up. They were much more pleased with this than with their previous day's wake-up, which had been a loud buzzer.
General Use
This song is regularly played on the habitat during training missions and in the Interlock or Command and Control during work sessions.
