Daily Distance Measurement

The system of observing Earth passing in front of the sun was a good idea… except that that happens once annually, not daily, and thus is almost completely useless for astrogation. Also, if the place you're flying to is off the ecliptic by even a tiny angle, you wouldn't see the Earth pass in front at all. Observing the positions of planets and such seems like a better idea, and I've rewritten the dead-reckoning system to make it so. --The Killer Rabbit aka Nevin 11:26, 6 May 2007 (EDT)
