The Mission Control Commander, not to be confused with the Mission Commander, is the absolute authority within Mission Control hierarchy. Before Stefan's Proposal to Change the Hierarchy the holder of this position was a Mission Commander within the non-mission specific hierarchy of Spacesim, but this has become a Mission-Specific rank only. The student with this rank usually doubles as a Flight Director, but has power over the other Flight Directors and is able to at any time override their orders (Flight Directors of course have staggered shifts, but the MC Mission Commander is the only Flight Director who holds absolute power even during another Fight Director's shift). As well, this student has the responsibility to hound Spacesim members who will be serving in Mission Control for their mission permission forms, and to then assign them timeslots during the mission.
