Commonly confused with the training mission, the mini-mission is a half-day to full-day simulated mission staffed by personnell who are not members of Spacesim.

Role of Spacesim Members

To ensure successful missions, usually an experienced Spacesim member will take on the role of second-in-command in each group of Astronauts, Mission Control, and Simulators in order to provide guidance and help in understanding the software.

Participants

Mini-missions were associated with EEPs, and were usually attended by students between grades seven and nine.

Space Camp

The idea of mini-missions is similar to that of the culminating mission of Space Camp. Unlike Space Camp, Spacesim has no other simulators.

Time Period

Mini-missions, like EEPs, fell out of grace as early as 2000-01 with the move to Ottawa Tech.
