When on a mission, Astronauts are expected to conduct experiments to learn more about the planet, moon, or comet. Experiments also allow the astronauts to test theories based on gravity, atmosphere, or mental and physical effects to the body.

Experiments are preplanned by the Astronauts before going on the mission, and time is alloted to each experiment.

Experiments usually take place in the Hotlab, unless it is a mental experiment, in which case it can take place anywhere in the Habitat.

Data from experiments during the mission is usually written down and examined after the mission.
