This article is about Space Sim Lore. It contains anecdotes or Spacesim mythology. |
Zarr is a phrase used by members of Spacesim when giving each other props. The opposite (or Antichrist) of Zarr is apparently Tard, though logically it should be Rraz.
Application
The Zarr should be initiated by somone when someone else has done something worthy of props. The person may not initiated the Zarr themselves, or they will be Tarded, which is done by hitting their outstretched fist in the style of "Bloody Knuckles". After the Zarr has been deployed, the person who has done the wonderous thing must complete the circuit by touching fists. They do not have to repeat "Zarr", but can if they wish.
Chain-Zarring can be used if you are too far away from the Zarr-ee. Simply get someone closer to the Zarr-ee to Zarr them, and then zarr the go-between.
Origin
According to what Ian remembers Cheyenne telling him, Zarr was invented in her English class, and is an amalgamation of the words "is" and "are".
