New page

The Canadian Science Challenge was a contest proposed by the Canadian Space Agency in preparation for Chris Hadfield's command of the International Space Station. Entrants were to design a science experiment using a prescribed list of materials, and submit the experimental procedures and a video of the experiment being performed on the ground.

The winning entry would be performed by Chris Hadfield on orbit, while livestreaming to the winning science team.

OCESS Entry
The OCESS formed a team led by Nicole Chassin to create entries for the challenge. The team was supervised by Stefan De Young. Despite several inventive proposals, lack of interest from Spacesim membership led to a workforce shortage, and forced the team to miss the submission deadline. There are plans to adapt the experimental procedures to make the experiments flight ready for any Main Mission.
